BritSquare Trust Centre
A clear guide to what a BritSquare claim means, how we protect the community, and the rules that keep the platform safe and enjoyable.
Last updated: 21 August 2026What a BritSquare claim is
It does not give you legal ownership, title, possession, access rights, mineral rights or any other interest in the physical land shown on the map.
Our approach
BritSquare is designed for exploration, personal stories, digital collecting and useful local discovery. We aim to keep claims transparent, user content respectful, photographs safe to share, optional location pins privacy-aware, verified-business listings genuine, and moderation proportionate.
Verified Local Business
Verified Local Business is a Pro eligibility feature for genuine businesses operating inside an active BritSquare owned by the applicant. Applications are reviewed separately by BritSquare administrators. A verified badge means the listing has been approved for display on BritSquare; it is not an endorsement, accreditation or guarantee of the business, its services or its offers.
Moderation and reports
User-uploaded content, business listings and offers may be reviewed automatically or manually before or after publication. Approved photos and approved business profiles can become public; square profiles also provide a report option so users can flag content for review. We may remove content or verification, restrict an account or preserve information where reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce our rules, investigate abuse or comply with law.
Keeping the platform safe
BritSquare will continue to review its safety processes as the community grows, including illegal-content controls, reporting workflows, business-verification safeguards and protections relevant to younger users where required.
